The Bluegrass Festival is held the 3rd Saturday in May each year and the three-day musical event draws people from
many parts of the US.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 31, 2010 5:30PM Legion Hut
American Legion Post 56 hosts a Memorial Day Ceremony on the last Monday of May. On Monday, May 31, 2010
the ceremony will be conducted at the American Legion Post and Unit 56 Hut.
Dairy Festival
Saturday, June 5 Holmes Water Park
The Dairy Festival is held the first Saturday in June at the Holmes Water Park within the city limits of Tylertown. The
festival is a day-long celebration that includes arts-crafts booths, a spelling bee, a sack race, turtle races, and a
fireworks display among many other events.

Christmas in the Park – Each year local volunteers host an elaborate lighted holiday display at Holmes Water Park
from Thanksgiving Day until New Years Eve. It is open nightly from 6pm to 8:30pm and is a spectacular event
enjoyed by the young at heart...

Bogue Chitto River and Magee’s Creek canoeing and tubing trips – The Canoe & Trail Outpost (601-876-6964) and
the Sweetwater Park & Canoe Renting (601-876-5474) offer several types of packages to meet all individual needs.
Holmes Water Park – Located within the city limits of Tylertown and bordering on Magee’s Creek, the park offers
softball fields, volleyball courts, and picnic areas. The park is adjacent to the Walthall County Multi-purpose building

Quail Hunting is popular in Walthall County - Deep South Quail Hunts (601-551-6573) and Thornhill Shooting
Preserve (601-684-2138) offer hunting opportunities.
Lake Walthall – The lake is located just south of Tylertown and offers fishing, swimming, skiing, and boating
opportunities.
Tylertown Country Club – The country club offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a nine hole golf course. For
